How did they get Veyron engine in their hands and make it to produce such power and fit it into Bonneville?

Is this car really exists? I was looking for some informations again and result was again zero, null, nothing...

What about cars modified specially for 1/4 mile races? For example there is such Supra in Poland:



It has ~1250 hp and top speed 361,9 kph (official speed record of Poland) and it is street legal.

Jun Akira Supra with 1200 hp exceeded 400 kph. There is also F-Bomb 1973 Camaro hot rod with 1540 hp and established top speed 270 mph (435 kph), but it propably wasn't tested for real top speed.

I know there are many cars like these, with amazing power and acceleration but when it comes to top speed there is no info or just the speed isn't so great as the rest...

News update: Plans are afoot to create an even more limioted-production Veyron for 2007 featuring an upgraded version of the 8.0 liter quad turbocharged W16 engine that will produce 1250 hp. It should raise the top speed from 252 mph to 274 mph.


That is 440 km/h.

They had enough trouble getting 252 mph and 1001 hp to work. I HIGHLY doubt that they'll get anywhere near 1250 hp, or 272 hp.
