2005 Mustang vs. 2005 Corvette

Don't compare these just based on price and performance, but for design for once. These are two new cars that are redefining the American Sports Car Industry.

I went with the new mustang, i saw one at the dealership in town and it is just stunning, that agressive looks fast while being still design is just awesome.

C6, you house proud town mouse.

Ford's retro style doesn't really appeal.

I'd have to say it was close for me...I've seen two C6's so far, and they just look so.....crisp. They look loads better than any other Corvette save the C2. I have to say I'm really loving the way Chevy rehabilitated the Vette's design and structure. On the other hand is the Mustang. Beautifully redone, ground up reconstruction, but everything is perfect. EVERYTHING. Mustang for me.

its a close call for me too... i saw both of these cars yesterday on the highway... one goin to the airport, and one coming back, and i have to say, im really impressed at the changes that have undergone both cars. The retro-styling of the new Stang is great, and the redesigned front of the 'Vette, let alone the whole new design, is so much more... 'elegant' looking in the sense of performance car category.

I bought an 05 mustang GT three weeks ago, so you know where I stand. I just love all the design cues they pulled from the classic 60's ponys, and it drives beautifully too.

The C6 is hot, though - won't discount it completely. But not for me.

Designwise, C5-1/2 (sometimes known as the C6) for me. 05 Mustang can suck my...well, you know what. It's currently my least favorite car being built, and very high on my all time list of least favorites.

Funny you mention that, alot of the C6's styling cues are from the stingrays...
And BTW if using a modified jaguar platform and making the best perfoming Mustang GT ever is "looking to the past" then that sounds like a pretty good strategy...

stingrays? really? ok, my respect for the c6 (which was quite for a modern vette) just doubled (69 427 stingray!)
