Subaru Impreza (First Gen./ WRX) vs Toyota Corolla GT-S Hatchback (Levin)

I don't have too much info. on both cars at the moment, so for those that know anything about the two, please make some sort of a comparison.

I'm mainly focusing on fuel economy, fuel tank size, which one would need the cheapest to repair if bought right now (previous condition: used as a daily commute car, around the 100,000-300,000kms range), and handling of the car (easy to turn? etc.), and the engine output.

Compare the 1992-1999 of the Subaru Impreza (AWD) against the 1985-1987 Toyota Corolla GT-S Levin.

Hmmm.... The AE86 is awesome but from what I've heard, it's not exactly cheap to take care of, but there's a strong enthusiast community. Also beware of rust towards the rear; I've seen a few with that problem. Not to mention the zOMG FuJIWARA ToFU (vol.13) status

But like all of the other vs. threads, test drive and decide. We're not the you, so we can't decide for you.

AE86 has a takumi tax, (which means impressionable people buy it to emulate a cartoon)
original Spec WRX was pretty gutless, You'd need a 97 or newer WRX to really have the experiance.
