Motor Trend, April, 1957... 6 Car Test

Here is an unusual (for Motor Trend) 6-car test. From the April, 1957 issue.
The cars tested were:
Studebaker Champion Six
Saab 93 Two-Cycle
DeSoto Fireflite
Austin-Healy 100-Six
Jaguar Mark VIII
Cadillac 62 Convertible

How reliable do you consider Motor Trend were in their day ?
It seems to refute many of the points we've argued over in the past

After reading many Motor Trend magazines, I would put them kind of inbetween. Not 100% non-biased, but they did have some fairness.
IMO, that magazine got somewhat biased agaisnt American cars from about 1970 and later.

It was probably at its peak in fairness during the 1960s.
