0-300 (kph)

Sport Auto recently performed an acceleration test (0-300 kph) involving six cars. Summary of the results. (First figure 0-100, second 0-300)

Koenigsegg CCX: 3.8/21.9
SLR 722 3.8/29.6
Murci LP 640 3.3/31.5
911 GT2 3.7/36.2
Alpina B6 S 4.4/41.5
Z06 4.1/44.6

The CCX is clearly the fastest, and overall the results are in line with the relative power of the car. Nevertheless, that the heavy B6 was faster to 300 than the Z06 can be directly attributed to the top gear characteristics of the Corvette. It may result in low revs, and low mileage, but the flip side is that it will take you some time before you reach top speed. (However under the current traffic situations, even in Germany, the tall top gear might be the more sensible solution...)

Edit: For easy reading press the "quote" button first, then the figures will appear in nice columns.

Just out of curiosity, did they record fuel consumption figures of some sort?

no idea....

the test also calculated stoppage times from 300.

CCX: 7.3
SLR: 7.4
LP640:7.1
911: 6.8
B6 :7.8
Z06: 7.2

Only comment: The keramic brakes of the 911 seem to compensate its higher weight (40 kg) compared to the (steel discs fitted) Corvette. The CCX weighed in one kg more than the Corvette.....(1455/1456)

no it was purely a 0-300-0 test and nothing else. No handling etc.

Nobody was willing to put up their Veyron, nor is Bugatti willing to toss the keys to anyone doing a 0-300kph test.

Even Road and Track was forced to borrow a private Veyron for their top speed test, where it lost to the Hennessey Viper.

I heard that if a Bugatti raced a Mclaren F1 you could theoretically allow the Mclaren go up to 200 before you start in the Bugatti and still beat it to 300...

what do you guys think of this?
