yeah E85 i've seen done, LPG doesn't strike me as a good conversion really, not when the main idea is to save fuel?? (don't buy a rotary then)

E85 is where its at for a cheap race gas IMO. Its 105 octane and cheaper then pump gas. Thus you can run more compression or boost with it and still come out cheaper.

Isn't E85 better on gas?

If you mean mpg then no. It takes more E85 to equal the reaction gas creates. On turbo cars they have to run larger fuel injectors and pumps to work with Ethanol.

^ Ok, that makes sense. But why have the E85 then. I see alot of it on american car manufactured cars.

For e85 need more A/F and giant spray nozzle. Propan/butan have good octane rating, more clean for air pollution, have a wide acceptance, price is below.
FD3S RX-7 T-88: Nov 14, 2004 Street-ported motor, T70 single turbo, Nitto drag radials and pump gas JD's RX7 10.83 @ 126.65mph: We know - rotor it is very exacting for octan. What good for rotor - good for all.)) Last edited by ALex.; 09-02-2009 at 10:03 AM.. |

E85's hot for a lot of enginebuilders. About the only advantage to this ethanol nastiness I can see.
