Photoshop tutorial - NEON - Whiteballz

Hello and welcome to the Whiteballz school of tutorials.

this first tutorial is a basic formulae for neon in 7 easy steps. The style is distinct, and was pioneered by myself.

#1: Open image of your car.
#2: Create new layer - (control + Shift + N)
#3: Grab the line tool, set it to a width of 4/7 pixles depending on size of image and car.
#4: Line around where you want the coloured "glow"
#5: Gaussian blur to a degree of 2.0 / 2.5
#6: Go through the center of the glow with a white line (whiteline width of 1 or 2).
#7: then blur the white line with gaussian blur set between .5 / 1.5

if the car is low enough to require glow on the ground beneath the bodywork, all you need to do is:

#1: Create new layer.
#2: Airbrush the same colour on the ground below the car.
#3: Set the layers blending mode to "multiply".
#4: Erase coloured areas according to shape of neon on the car.

The first image is the BEFORE:
The second image is the AFTER:

The car was lowered so the glow on the ground could be showcased correctly.

What's "line tool" and "gaussian blur"? Sorry I'm new at this, downloaded the trial just a few days ago.

the line tool creates a straight line of colour, of varied size. you can change the width of the line by the options by the "weight" of the line.

gaussian blur is a distinct style of bluring an image.
