MX5 Chop

Hey guys,

Here is my newest chop. Its a chop of the new Mazda MX5 and here follows a list of mods:

Chopped roof
Sparco seats
Rollcage/Rollbar
Wide bodykit
Pearlescent paintjob
Rays F1 wheels

Here's the original:

Here's the chopped version:

Please let me know what you think of it. Personally, I liked it more without all the decals but the competition I entered it in specifically stated it must have sponsor logos etc on it.

Enjoy!

Wheels and tires look to be canted in quite a bit, where you going for that?

Ah, ok. I think it looks pretty cool. I'm not really into photoshop, so I can't make many comments there, but you definitely got rid of the "friendly" look that's been plagueing the miata.

Small error:

your chopping has left the side door with no shutline- it just sort of melds into the side scoop with is frankly redundant, but thats part of the design, so thats cool.

other than that, not half bad.

It looks nice but there looks like theres a big difference in the resolution of the body in general and the wheels youve picked, which make the wheels look a bit too cartoonish.

It looks nice really, the only problem is that the wheel is out of alignment or out of proportion compared to that of the original...

I like it though...

Yeah I thought that maybe it might look OK if I do it that way and I kinda liked it. However, I think if I had more time I would have definitely done it differently. Thanks

Yeah I get what you guys mean. I didnt notice that at first but I can see that now. Does it look OK if you ignore the original and look at the chopped one only?

Actually, It's not that bad..

You've done a quite great job there...

Actually, you don't need to remove/ignore the original there... It can be used as a basis of comparison to how much you improved the look of the car...

Great chop, looks really really good. The wheels as some mentioned do look a bit odd, but the rest is very impressive imo.

Front kit looks good, as do the wheel arches and open-top conversion. Good job.

Great job.
I like it all except the transition from front fender/arches to the front fascia is a little abrupt.
