Not to be harsh at all, but its my nature. This looks nothing like carbon fiber. Look at this post as constructive criticism.

i thought it needs to be alot smaller. I followed the tutorial in that PS bille thing, did what it said, thought it was WAY to big and made it 1/4 the size, but it is still too big. lol.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Hello.

Well...carbon has a lot to be said.

This tutorial by Digimods gives good results, but I'll try to add some personal tips.

http://www.digimods.co.uk/tutorials/carbonbonnet.htm

The things I add to that tutorial are:
-in stage4 my pattern is lighter, but just about the same
-in stage6 I open a new document with about double the size of the pic I'm working in.( ex: original-1024/800 new docuement-2048/1600)
-in stage8 paste the mesh document and resize it until it fits the area to "carbonize" by a small margin
-in stage10 I only twirl about 30%
-in the middle and before merge the layers I still copy the mesh layer (already cut to fit) select inverse (ctrl+i), make it very bright and set the layer to "soft light" (adjusting the opacity until it looks good)
*the carbon should have a "yellowish/oranje" look (I think )

Hope it makes sense.

Hello Mustang.

My mesh lloks about the same, only a bit lighter and perhaps longer...but adjusting brightess/contrast should lead to the same final result.

Have fun.
