ok.

you make the pattern like how didgemods tells you to, then you select the hood with the lasso tool, and paste it onto a new layer, then go to hue and saturation and desaturate the layer.

make a new window, making it bigger than the car pic and select fill and choose the cf apttern, use the rectangle tool and select the whole window. then you copy and paste it onto the car pic, and lower the opacity. then go to filter distort /twirl. and twirl it slightly, then hit shift and click the hood layer then right click the picc and select select all or something and it will select the whole picture, and then hit delete. and then change the layer to multiply. then you go to birghtness and contrast and lower the broghtness and contrast and all that to make it look more realistic, then just hit ctrl shift e and you're done!

Or you could just use this.
Select the carbon give it a twirl then go to edit copy,go to the chop car select the bonnet, image adjustments, darken slightly or desaturate, then go to edit past into.
Finaly go to layers on the bottom right side and select overlay and your done.

Has anybody found a tutorial for, or know how to easily convert a glossy coloured car to matt or satin black? I fancy going for the stealth look on my next chop.

In a word, no. Well, you can, but it would look ridiculous and everyone would laugh at you.
