Speedwell Sprite

Anyone ever seen these? It's an Austin-Healey Sprite with a distinct, more streamlined bodywork. The aluminium and GRP bodypanels can be bought from a Britain-based company (not Speedwell anymore though). It has the same 1 litre engine as does the original car.

I like the front, it reminds me of the 250 GTO

The front might be based on that, although I cannot be certain of that, since I don't know when the Speedwell design was conceived.

Even with a calculated US inflation rate since then of 517% it would be a good deal
Might think twice if it tracked British inflation/exchange rates though as it would be about £15,000

One of two in the US

I've had this Speedwell Sprite GT for over 30 years now. It is one of two here in the US. This particular car has had some extra features: Fiat 1500cc engine, more open intakes, side windows, extended back area of cockpit – Although every Speedwell was made to custom specs. This car was never raced, just used as a touring car – now shows.
