Lada Vaz 2107

Also known as Lada 1500SL & Lada Riva.

Production started in 1982.
Vaz 2107 is the most luxurious model among second generation of rear wheel drive cars produced by VAZ. The main differences from 2105 are high-back seats (Ricardo style) with integrated head rests, upgraded dash board with a tachometer and big front grill a la Mercedes-Benz. Vaz 2107 can easily be considered most comfortable and sophisticated domestic rear wheel drive sedan produced in Russia.
Original engine size 1.3, now discontinued. Now can be equipped with either 1.5 or 1.6 liter 4 cyl motor.

Those cars are awesome man... they're cheap to fix, reliable and RWD... if i could only import one (or two) into New York... any of you remember the Top Gear (or was it Fifth Gear) episode, when Lotus remade one of these little boogers into a sick track car??? SICK!

Sounds like personal problem to me.

In Moldova Dacia is not a decent word and Lada is just fine... But ARO is a real curse word.

Yeah, Dacia has not a good authority in Ukraine too. But Solenza or Logan is better then 2107. There are no doubt. New VAZ's cars and old (by time of USSR) are the very very different cars. Quality of new Ladas worse than Slavuta or Tavria now. IMHO
