Panhard PL17
The PL17 was the last four door sedan baring the famous name Panhard. After being taken over by Citroen, the brand continued for a while but in 1967 came the end. The PL17 was a facelifted version of the Dyna Z that was produced from 1954 to 1959. The PL17 still maintained the 850 flat aircooled twin, that produced 42 or 50 BHP at 5250/5750 revs. These high revs were the weak point of the car, because it needed much work with the gear box to keep speed. Nevertheless in spite of the little amount of horsepower the car was able to reach 145 kph, demonstrating what aerodynamics can achieve. In 1962 the suicide doors were replaced by normal ones. The car was rather expensive, but still about 130,000 were produced, until production ended in 1965. Cabriolet (600 made) and stationwagon versions were also available. Shown here is an example at the Technoclassica in Essen in 2004

That's a beauty. I'm afraid I don't know much about Panhard, so pardon my ignorance when I ask my question.
 Are Panhards rear-engined? None of them seem to have grilles in the front.
