GAZ A Aero

This is a 1934 GAZ prototype - a streamlined body for the GAZ A, which, in turn, was straightly developed from Ford Model A. The car was built by A.Nikitin as a dissertation project. Wooden frame with steel sheets for a body. The Cx equalled 0,207 - almost twice better then for an ordinary GAZ A.
A forced GAZ A engine was placed in the car - 4 cylinders, 3285cc, 48hp (2600 rev/min). Max.speed - 106 km/h, 0-80 km/h in 36 seconds ( ).
Weight: 1270 kilos.
Dimensions: length - 4970mm, width - 1710mm, height - 1700mm, wheelbase - 2620mm.

The car was a one-off and doesn't exist for today.

Interesting photos. Shows the movement toward later streamlined bodies.

Definately interesting. A clear example of early aerodynamic styling. Anyone interested in these kind of cars, might want to look into the Czech Tatra (T87) as well.
