Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

Anyone else going this weekend?

I know there aren't too many members within easy driving range of it, but its right up the road from my house, so I'll be there tomorrow.

Hope to see any of you there. I'll have my camera, so stand by for a bunch of pics.

Looking forward to your pics. I have a friend in Orlando who usually goes, but this year it fell to close to Sebring. From what I've seen the classics are of the highest caliber.

Amelia was awesome

Saw some great cars. Took me over 10 hours to get there from the DC area. Worth every minute.

Here are some of the 1400 pictures that I took

regards

ken

few more

here are a few more. I got a ride into the venue early on Sunday in a 66 427 Cobra with only 6000 miles on it. It was great to shoot without the thousands of folks walking about.

a strange one

Here is one from the "Cars you didn't know existed" class at Amelia.

Here is some info I lifted from a post on the HAMB: Beuhrig's Tasco was actually built in 1948, between his gigs at Studebaker and Ford. It's best known as the first example of the T-top, a feature which Buehrig attempted unsuccessfully to patent. Only one was built, and it lives at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum.

One of the great things about this show is to stay until the end...then you get to see many of the cars drive out onto the public road.

The cars look great out on the grass but in the real world setting of the streets they absolutely come to life.

that is what makes the Pebble Tour so attractive...
