I don't think they're actually suggesting that the final car will have an F1 engine in it. The practicalities of such an assertion are pretty awful. I think they're just saying that that is what the concept is. So when/if it does make it to showrooms with an M5 sourced V10 (in a presumably hugely higher state of tune) the more ignorant observers will presume it's all based on the same engine. The power of suggestion.

I'm rather intrigued by the part about the V10 in the Williams having 700bhp. I'd imagine that figure should be nearer 1000. Maybe it's a true figure, indicative of why they had a relatively crap season.

For what it's worth I don't think it's a good road to go down for BMW. I've always thought that BMW should have a supercar to their name, purely as a halo car, but I'd imagine they'd have to make it a really great car to avoid losing sales to the 6 series. I could be wrong though.

I like it from what i've seen... the front will make or break it tho.... maybe if they could replicate the really old Bimmers with the really deep Kidney Grilles...if done correctly that'd look sweet.

if they did that it mgiht end up looking like that awful hartge 6 series!

Well I understand what they mean by it could be rendered useless when the M6 and M6 CSL come out, but I would still want to see a concept car at least.

Super fast with a F1 engine that may rev up to 18000rpm and powerful, with the comforts of a saloon (maybe comforts no good, but its definetely better in comforts than a f1 car!)
