BMW E36 M3s

So my sis' is selling the Acura, and asked me to buy an E36 M3 Convertible after seeing it in a Auto Trader magazine.
Now the thing is, at 1st she wanted me to co-own it, as in split it half and half.

I've always been a fan of the E36 M3.
But since she set her heart on a M3 Convertible, she also talked about a coupe or sedan....
Well she wants to know (Not wanting to hear my advice) what would be the better buy? The sedan or the coupe.
This is the one she wants to co-own, as in we each drive it, split the costs, etc.

I told her to get the sedan....since she's getting a convertible version and I already have a coupe, it'd be nice to get a 4-door for family and friends....

So what would be best for us (her)?
BTW, we're not looking for any "special" models...
EDIT: My sis' is pissed because I didn't add this part....because we simply don't need it....
Anyways, to make her happy, she also wants to know about the E39 M5 which I think is stupid and too costly, but might as well ask so she gets off my back....

Note: Please don't ask why she wants a 3rd car. Not even she will tell me.....

Coupe is most rigid and better for performance, convertible is just a poser car - may as well just save some money and get a 328i. Or Z3.
M3 sedan is just wrong - it should have remained a coupe but if she wants a sedan she's better off looking at the M5. E36 sedan rear leg space is heavily compromised. And really, if you can't seat 2 adults comfortably in the rear, what's the use of a sedan? All IMO, of course.

Either way, the US-spec E36 M3s are less powerful and slower than the rest of the world's so they really aren't as special as they probably should be in the first place.

E39 M5 is my choice by far. Faster, Bigger and more comfortable. You will be much happier with the E39 M5.

Are some specially talented driver? I have no idea why do you need more power. The M3 will deliver more than most drivers can handle...

There was a sedan version (4 door) on the E36 M3. Do a Google search and you'll get to know it...

No McReis, but having befriended an E36 owner he, he constantly felt his coupe itself, never had enough power he wanted....which lead to car to be on jacks for the next 3 months....idiot....(not you McReis)

But I'll take your word on it.
Right now, I am trying to convince her the coupe has more leg room ( ) and that we should think of another sedan besides it....She agreed on the sedan but still wants to see the E39 M5.

So, she's actually deciding between the 3 M3 models...I know we're getting one, just she keeps changing her mind. I'll try and push her towards the coupe.

Only now I noticed you're from USA, where the M3 has much less power than the european 286 bhp and 321 bhp for 3.0 and 3.2 versions...
What's the maximum output of an M3 there? 240 bhp?
