Mercedes, they are the biggest car Company, and all of their cars are superb, not saying that BMWs aren't superb but the Bangle beemers are just plain ugly.

When I think of BMW the only cars that come up to my mind are the Z8, M3 and M5.

Mercedes: SLR McLaren, SL55 AMG, CL600 and any Mercedes that is AMG, BRABUS or RENNTECH

BMW are great too, but I choose Mercedes.

BMW for me. Mercedes for old wealthy people BMW for young wealthy people. Mercedes styling is just too understated for me.

Ok maybe I was a little too stereotypical with that comment but I don't recall me saying Mercedes drivers are boring. The majority of Mercedes buyers are of a much older age than you though.

And about me saying rich people drive Mercedes and you being broke just remember your car is 37 years old, i'm talking about new car buyers here.

BMW for me.

I used to hate the way most mercedes look. They are getting better as long as they dont stick to the SLR theme to much. The proportions on that car as just wrong.

I am one of the brave few that loves Bangle so I would take a Beamer over a Merc anytime.

They just look sportier, Merc's really are for old people. :P And I mean that in general ofcourse. I am not saying that everyone in a merc is old. It is just that on average you would see older people in Mercs then in Beamers.

Are you saying old people can't drive fast cars? The average buyer of that car would be in his(or her) 40's usually. The SLR Mclaren, however, is probaly aimed at a younger audience than your average Mercedes. AS I said, the majority of Mercedes buyers are older drivers, doesn't mean all of them are.

Mercedes definitely, without looking at the rest of the car, the arrow badge screams bling. Then, you look at the rest of the car and see the elegance it has*. When I think about the Mercedes range, I can't really think of a slow car car either.

*Excludes A-Class.

You forgot to also exclude the M-class and G-class SUV's.

Mercedes is my choice, I've been a big fan for as long as I can remember, moreso when I saw my first AMG, BMW's are up there for sure - not the new Bangle designed cars but cars like the old M6/635CSi are among my all-time favourites.

Ah this topic over and over again...everybody knows there's no clear winner since every manufacturer makes cars specifically for a certain type of customers, but this is probably the first forum where I see so many Mercedes fans. Imo BMW is much more spoiled by the fan-boy attitude. Every 12 year old kid who has never driven a car will probably say BMW cus they look much more appealing to them(or used to look). I'm not against BMW fans, at least not against true BMW fans who know exactly the reasons for liking this brand. I have driven a lot of cars from both the manufacturers & I found that Mercedes-Benz trully makes cars for my taste, I love everything about them & have studied everything there is to know about their history, from Gottlieb Daimler, Karl Benz, Wilhelm Maybach, Emil Jellinek, Dr. ing. F. Porsche etc. to Alfred Neubauer & all the personalities which have helped this brand to become what it is today. It has the greatest history & the highest number of innovations for the automobile in the world. There's nothing to compare but of course this is just my opinion, it all comes down to what you really like about a car brand.

Mercedes-Benz. They have always made much better cars than BMW, and Bangle's designs also ruin BMW's reputation further more.
