Midnight Ferrari Run through London..(pics now included)

Chapter 1

Last night/this morning was proberly one of the best in my life (in the car point of view). Let me start from scratch, i recieved a call yesterday around 7 pm from my uncle saying that theres gonna be midnight run with ferrari's through london, and ask me if i fancy coming, and my instant reply was, HELL YEAH!!

11.20 My ride arrives i jump in, me and my two uncles en route to Central london, as we we're in the car i go "need some batteries for the camera" (even though it's pretty shite and has only 4 MP) He then replies "Sorry no can do, if we're late thats it, we ain't gonna be able to keep up once they've left without us" I then thought to my self, no worries still got around 50% power left.

11.45 We arrive, it's pretty hard to miss the convoy of cars, sadly even though some people who we're suposed to come couldn't make it, it was still a great turn out. From memory at the "starting line" there were, 2 360's (one spider), 2 or 3 348's, 1 mondial tottally stripped in the inside, with roll-cage and bucket seat () 1 575, and 1 porsche carrera 911 something (it was one of the old ones) and one really really riced up skyline, but this was high-end rice Oh yeah, and one Mercedes E 320 (diesel) Which sadly i had to sit in for a leg of the event But mind you being at the back is "nearly the best place..

So we get out the car and one of my uncle knows a few of the guys, so he starts chatting to them, whilst i go get my camera turn it on and start flashing away getting nothing but the shittiest photos i've ever seen () After a few minutes of instandable photograhpy, my camera's battery dies (thank god in a way) so i go back up to the the car and chuck one of the shittest cameras to ever touch my hands back in to the passenger seat.

i then start to "mingle" with the ferrari owners, and reconize the familiar face of one of the guys, after having a "heated" disscussion about how to spec his 430 and how crazy america is to ban the car, it strikes midnight (well it didn't really, the event manager just thought we should get move on). Then my uncle (the one who knows most people) returns, and says that he's got a ride in the tubi'ed 348 and he's gonna take it, (crap i thoguht), he then continues saying that the passenger window ain't working to he's gonna need some else to take the pictures (Great i thought, why not) So we get started, the black 348 leading the pack, followed by the list of cars i stated above, they all do a U turn and pretty much make your ear bleed until they reached the lights, then you just sat back and listened to those engins rev to about 7000 rpm from the carefull owners. We manage to spin the car around and catch up, i'll try and find you the map of the long straight we had, it turns green and there was mind traffic to one side, so afew of the more "eager to impress" owners, give the cars a good beating (with there right foot that is). A portion of the cars continues but, 3 ferrari and the merc get left at the traffic lights, it's a 360, 348 and a 355, all of which are in the gleaming Rosa Corsa, acutally i may have to refer back to my video footage to make sure. But we're all at the front of the traffic lights.

The lights go green, the owners let the public hear the sound of a car enthusiaist paradise, accelarting to about 60 mph in the merc, where the rest are now hitting 85 ish, with what sounds like Tubi'd Exhausts singing gloriously, the police pull out of the parking lot, lights on, over taking the "ordinary" car madly just trying to catch up. In the end 3 of the cars gets pulled over, we stop just slightly futher up, so i can snap a few shots for you guys, and we continue onward, to warn the rest of the gang.

Please comment on this section whist i go and have breakfast, it's now 1.37 and i'm am staving..

I'll also try and dig up some pics, but i can't really as my firefox is messed up, i can't download anything from the net (video's of pictures) so help would be greatly appriecated...

Lets Continue..

Chapter 2
So we left to 3 ferraris at the back with PC Tosser and continued onward with the direction at hand, as we went forword to words Mayfair, we had go through the Underpass, and we thought to ourselves, if those guys didn't get pulled over we'd have the biggest grin on or faces and some better video footage, but that wasn't the major trouble, so we continued. After exiting the underpass, we saw the remaining ferraris parked up in heavy traffic, i jumped knowing yet that no-one yet knows and just wandering what their reaction would be ( ) I headed straight up to the lead car, the Black 348, and Sy, the driver, there was a minor conversation between him and my uncle, exchanging pleastries including "Shit, Crap" and "Bloody tossers" Not going into details.. I was then told to warn the other drivers quickly just to be careful whilst driving, yet again all drivers replied in the same, somewhat humourous manner. But by the time i had reached the 360 parked at the back he'd found via phone call, and told me to quickly jump back in my car as they're coming, fast..

We set of again, all here and acounted for only to be stuck in real thick traffic just before Piccadilly circus, but the whistling and stares defintly lifted sprits, just one of the "perks" of a ferrari with a tubi (for the ones that had it) stuck in London...

Once the traffic started to move, yet again one half got split for the other, with occassional teen in his Civic taking out his camera phone snapping for pictures rapidly... once we manage to make the turn around piccadily roundabout, it was just my car and a 360, we had a quick glance down at the insturction and i was told that we may be able to cut through the side roads and meet them their, in the end the plan worked, we waited for about 5 minutes before they acutually arrived, but we certainly weren't bored, there was Rolls Royce showroom, full of phantoms, and one of the Silver-bonneted convertble ones, also and Aston Martin Vanquish parked out in front of a block of flats..

Once the cars arrived we waited for the 3 cars which got left behinde due to police trouble, we then set off, without the Mondial or the 911 now. I can't be bothered to right in such detail anymore so i'll make it short, after that we got up in traffic, this time was a little more intrestiing as this 5-series driver was being a real twat as he tried to over take one of the 355 spider, nearly taking the front bumper with it, we then went over the hanover-bridge which was great fun as it was pretty empty, and then into another tunnel, this time we were present to witness the insanity of those exhausts, and my god was it amazing. No-one present and just and empty tunnel excluding the ferraris and the merc and skyline.. We then decided to call it a night, it was about 2.15 and one 355 went back through the tunnel where the 348, 360 and 355 went onwards with us to find food, got home at last around 3 ish (i think) and hit the deckMore picces to come!!!

That sounds like a great night of fun. Speaking of cool cars yesterday I saw a Ford GT heading towards my hometown. Let's just say that I got real close to the car in front of me while watching it pass by.
