All exceptionally good points.

I appreciate engineering that is simple and does its job. Any mechanic knows that the more complex something is the more often it breaks. Thats why a 4000 lb monstrosity with 4 turbos just doesn't impress me.

The fact that when it does break down some dude will come down from a helicopter to save your ass no matter where you are does impress me!

A lot of people have already reiterated the main point, its just a marvel of technology.

As an engineering feat it obviously impresses u. As an everyday tool it doesn't

Can you say the EB110 has that classic elegance? The Veyron is to finish the EB110's job in defeating the world's fastest production cars. Veyron and the EB110 is so similar in fact: AWD, quad-turbos, more advanced technologies at launch, and that low-pitch engine sound.

.........unless you don't like the EB110.

Just for the record (and because I'm a total nitpick), skydiving doesn't generate any Gs. It's actually one of few ways on earth to experience prolonged zero G

The result doesn't really surprise me at all. I mean, I think it was going to be pretty obvious that getting to 100 so fast it's not funny wasn't going to bother it at all, and then if you read up on it's braking specs and facts, thats not so surprising either. How fast does it brake from 400kmh? Like 10 secs or something like that isn't it? And as for the Gixxer? Well, the Veyron accelerates faster, and hard braking isn't exactly a bike's forte. Just read the bikers column in MOTOR's Turbo S v GSXR-1000 comparo and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, that makes sense, seeing as though you're being accelerated toward the ground by gravity, not fighting it. Would skydiving actually make negative Gs?

Id imagine the GSXR would beat the veryon to 100 but as stated before they cannot stop nearly as fast as a car.

Of course what I do is pretend that the EB110 doesn't exist...

The EB110 would have worked with any badge... except the Bugatti one...

Arkansas, Conway, not so bad, really.
Oh hell, anything's faster than a fighter jet. It isn't until takeoff that jets really get moving. The jet engine works better and better the faster it goes; it might make, I don't know, 10,000 pounds of thrust while stationary, and then much more (maybe exponentially?) up to a speed at which the gain in thrust levels off due to airflow separation or something like it within the engine.
The Vincent Black Shadow was claimed to out-accellerate a F-104 Starfighter until it took off, and that was in the 50's.

You might as well race it against Secretariat.

...There's an idea.

Have you ever actually seen a Space Shuttle launch? A Lada would be faster off the mark.
