1972 Mercedes-Benz 220D

Well, the 300ZX didn't exactly work out. The car was a blast to drive, and it sounds like a wild beast above 5000RPM. So we go to nissan to have it checked out. Firstly, the left headlight is f***ed, then there's an oil leak of which the source is unknown, then the front brakes need replacing. The car is completely out of the question now, as nobody could tell us for sure what other problems are bound to come up in the future. Anyways, we're driving through the city, and after hours of looking at garbage housewife cars I was really beginning to lose hope. My dad and I split up as we aimlessly walked through the Volvo/Hyundai lot, and then I stumble across this 1972 Merc 220D. Jokingly I yell over to my dad, "hey I found my car!" Long story short, after an hour at the dealership and a test drive, my dad is actually convinced that this would be the car for me. It is immaculate, and alll original. The mileage is over 200K, but that's not much for a diesel engine. This car is literally bullet broof, the steel with which they used to build these things back then is incredible. It was appraised at 10grand, but the dealership is asking 5. I attached a picture of the same model with the same color, identical condition. Personally I love this thing, but tell me what you think, is this really something I should be serious about? Thanks guys!

You could do worse. Those old Mercs are pretty indestructible. nota would be your best man to ask about them but he doesn't seem to post anymore unfortunately.

The guy said it had around 70horse, but now I'm really not sure what the specs are.

My dad owns a 23 year old Mercedes 300 SD Turbo-Diesel. He said it's been the best car he's ever owned; you should be in good hands.

We've had a couple of old mercs now, no diesels though. They're a nice place to be, and there's a certain cool charm about them. Nice choice.

well first off its definetly original, although old but buying and selling could always be an option. gaining profit for something better is never a let down. the 300zx is definetly a beauty, and the drive is amazing.
