No real pics... Saw it in Wheels mag today, and it looked like they had pictures of the real car...
I felt sure there would be more availible on the web, but...looks like I should buy that magazine!

Well, judging from the shape of the car, they really meant it when they said they want something to rival the SL.

With a V10 I would presume?
The pictures in Wheels looked nothing like that...from memory.

If anybody saw it, there was a segment on 5th Gear where one of them went to a supercar club HQ in the US and they had an order in for a BMW Z10, which apparently was the same size as a Gallardo. I was hoping for that, not just some big 2 seater soft top

If they want to match Merc, and I think they do, they're going to need a supercar eventually.
Especially if the Mercedes Gullwing is gunna happen...
It was on the same page.

EDIT:

BMW isn't going to lose sales to MB because they don't have a supercar. That would gain them say 200-300 sales a year, maybe a little more. On top of that, the SLR is probably the least supercar of all the supercars. Supercars built by the big manufacturers are only so they can go "Oh look what we made, aren't we good? This makes up for our tiny penises" and maybe sucker in a few chumps to buy their normal cars

Yeah but its a brand name thing. People will change their attitude toward BMW if they have a supercar.
Yeah apparently that gullwing thing is coming because the SLR isnt doing so well.

Yeah that, and the image thing.
Personally, I would love to see what BMW can do with a supercar.
I always liked them more than MB.

Need no longer to suffer, just go back to 1977 and look at the BMW M1. That's what they can do with a supercar.

3453cc N/A straight six, 277bhp. Mid mounted and rear wheel drive with a 5-speed manual. I think 0-60 was around 6 seconds and top speed about 165mph (but I could be wrong on performance).

Hardly wrong, it was 6.1 secs to 60 and 164mph top speed

I don't like it, to be honest. The 635CSi M was a much more attractive proposition for me.

I like it a lot. Its exotic yet muscular yet BMW.

Argh how do you guys remember exact specs like that?
I can hardly remember power figures for things like Ferraris...and I dont even know how much a TVR Sagaris has, and I love them!
Then theres the Veyron...Does it even have an official power figure? Does Bugatti even know?
Ive heard everything from 1100bhp, to it being restricted to 800...
