It really is great. I've not kept up with the thread as well as I should, and have made a jackass of myself almost daily since, but put me on the record for saying that this is a very tastefully done homage to the original.
Though as far as the whole "retro" thing goes, I'm more of a proponent of putting modern running gear into old designs... but it'd probably be just as expensive to commission a bolt-for-bolt recreation of an original P3/4 chassis and drop Enzo running gear in. (You couldn't butcher an original, naturally.)
If I ever hit oil while "shootin' at some food," I'd like to put a modern Mercedes V-8 and drivetrain into my old 107-chassis SL. But by the time I've got enough money for such a project, Mercedes V-8's will probably displace 35 liters and be seven feet wide if the current trend continues.
