According to a Dutch website, the car will go the Great Britain and the US. They will all be hand-made and production will start in the summer of 2007.

I like this car a lot. Very simple lines. Very purposeful looks.
I've read the story of Mr. Farboud and it's very interesting. I hope this project works out well so that he can be regarded by his determination and courage.

Whilst Arash Farboud may have "determination and courage", not very much of it will have anything to do with the final production version of the Farboud GTS if/when it ever gets into production.

In late 2004 Farboud essentially sold Farboud Sports Cars to Chris Marsh (formerly of Marcos & Invicta) and since then the car has changed significantly.

I get the impression from various articles that they pretty much started the project again from scratch to make it more viable.

Power to weight: 8.5 lb/hp and 6.2 lb/hp for the GTS model. Very nice

Where is the engine sourced from?

I can't believe this thing is still around. It started off about what, six years ago as a copy of the 911GT1 with an Audi V8(Before Porsche sued...). I hope for Chris Marsh's sake that someone buys them. I've read a quote that said he had all his finances tied up in the project.

Not quite.

Farboud's first self-built car was basically an Ultima chassis, with bodywork crafted by Farboud that was certainly reminiscent of the 911 GT1, with a Dialynx tuned Audi 2.7-litre twin turbo V6 instead of the first-choice of a Porsche Twin Turbo Flat 6.

The warm reception of both the car and the company inspired Farboud to develop a new, more refined car, better suited to the road - the GTS.

Porsche didn't go so far as to sue, either; they complained.

Marsh wasn't forced into anything against his will. If he wants Farboud to succeed, it is up to him to make it succeed - he is the man in charge, after all.

Hilarious description, that was refreshing.

Original automotive commentary is rare these days.

Out of interest I believe this is a pic of the original design for the Farboud GTS...
