I think that he was talking about taking out a Caterham Seven RS which actually has full body work.

It may still make women run for their lives but most probably less so.

I new I had some older photos of this somewhere. I think it was first planned back in the summer.

That is a tiny engine for that kind of power output.

I am looking for the source of the motorcycle engines that power the Atom but with no luck.

Anyone know what block it is?

A google search revealed Wiki on the SR8 engine.

I do know that the Atom RS and RS Levante's engine has 5 vpc, so the engine has at least different cylinder heads.

I will keep looking.

Well this is interesting.

Read.

Started to work on the engine 15 years ago.

Ah now I got the name the puzzle is coming apart. It's called the RST-V8. All it shares with the original 1L Yamaha EXUP bike eingines form the 90s is the cylinder head castings apparently.

.

Amazing. Thanks for the nudge Fredrik.

EDIT: I heard once source call it a microblock V8. That pleased me.

This and the Caterham Seven RS Levante are as close to a street driven F1 as you can get. You gotta love it. I can't wait to see these cars tested on Top Gear.
