here in australia we have the original opel design and they've been very succesful, the chevrolet one doesn't look too bad, but it seems everytime they get their hands on an original design, they re-design it and make it look VERY aggressive.
but it doesn't looke too bad.

this is my favorite astra, it just loox really damn hot!

Here in Brazil the Astra is a really success and until this year, the model was equal to the Opel model, but they made some changes to its design in order to keep it up to date...
Both models are cool, but the updated brazilian, is more agressive, because its front end, the renewed lights and the grill...
itīs a pitty that the "most powerfull" engine used here is a 2.0 16V with around 130 hp... and not the turbo engine used in europe...

I think itīs not necessary, īcos the car is the same, exactly equal to the opel one of the third pic above... the only difference is that they changed the opel simbol by the chevrolet one...
I will try to find some pic of the car...

They both look pretty much the same, but with a few minor styling tweaks. I'd say the Chevy looks slightly better.

the motivation for these design changes is that the new astra that is coming for 2004/2005 in europe, will not come to Brazil... as well as the new vectra...

I know man... and I donīt know why they donīt bring us some cars like the new vectra, vectra coupe, astra coupe, astra wagon...
they just bring us small cars with low power...
the most powerfull GM engine produced here is the 2.0 16V... despite this, thereīs the 3.8 V6 that comes with Chevrolet Omega... but itīs imported...

The best sellers in Brazil are cars like the cevrolet celta... I like its design, but the engine is a 1.0 8V VHC with "incredibles" 70cv...

what do you think about its design??

I'm not so sure if you can compare this SS chevy with the standard german Opel.I think this is unfair.
Guys at OPC are making cool additions to the original OPELs.Somehow they look more ELEGANT than the Brasilian version. The SW that Badboy attached an image of & this Coupe from OPC are just fabulous.....
