New Top Speed For The Ferrari Enzo

I believe the top speed was claimed to be 217.5Mph and this one in the Gumball 3000 did 366Km/h (That's about 228.75Mph)

Sorry if it is a re-post.

or he was getting wheel slip on poor road surface.
So the car doesn't go faster but the wheels do

Wow, that's a good bit faster than the original estimate. Could have also been a good wind to its back to help speed.

it looks like the owner did some aftermarket work (not much), like those wheels, which i would assume reduce weight (who would put heavier rims on an ENZO?), making it easier for the car to push the wind. I can't see anything else, cept those stickers, which add about 5 hp each

Sorry Sweeney, the weight of the wheels will have miniscule difference to the speed. They WILL affect the handling and the suspension.

Another alternative is WHERE was this run ?
If the engine was tuned ( maybe the ECU is smart enough ) to adjust mixture and airflow then it's possible it would go faster in Colorado. Being a mile high reduces the air density white a bit and make it easier for car to push through. But usually the less O2 means you lose out.

So all you Enzo owners out there (!) can the ECU and intake adjust to maintain power at mile high and above ??

oh, i know that having just the wheels changed won't have much effect, but they make me think that maybe the owner has some other changes he/she got that we can't see (such as engine and interior). to credit, there isn't much weight to take off the enzo, but for sure you can put a turbo on it (no real need for it, though).

This foto shows Enzo's trip computer, so the speed was measured with Enzo's speedometr. Every car has mostakes with the speed on speedometr (usualy it shows speed more than real) so i think it's not truth speed.

Digital speedos are VERY accurate as they're driven off the ABS wheel pulses.
The only error comes from the cornering (little) and wheelspin(could be lots).

HOWEVER, missing the obvious as it was already pointed out that it was after-market wheels. If they have a 10% smaller rolling radius then the speedo will be out by 10%, if it's 20% smaller then you get 20% diff !!
Now THAT is the most likely reason.

But at the pic it's difficult to see the difference between the standart wheels and that ones which are on this car. About digital speedometrs you are right.

By the way, i read that Porsche 911 tuned by 9ff set a top speed at Nardo ring at 392 (!) kph (more than Mclaren F1).

That 9ff is a very quick car.

Maybe Lonman was pushing the Enzo along with his GT2... *nudge* "Get out the way! Crappy Fiats!"

Could happen

I have just remembered a road test I read a few years ago between a Brabus EV12 and a Ferrari F40. One of the quotes read something along the lines of:

You'll get used to pulling bits of red plastic out of the grill (of the Brabus)
