Search for an early 90's BMW 750 il and you'll be surprised what those cost now.... but I guess keeping it on the road is another thing. I have experienced it my own having only a 2,3 litre 5 cylinder, it already eats my money :P. But then again a 750 il isnt really a car ment for 'kids' like me.

No, thats fine, but you state no reasoning behind it. It just really sounds biased.

Interested, but I'm not really shopping for an XJS, if that's what it sounded like. We don't get Top Gear in the States but we do get a Brit car show called Fifth Gear and they have a section dealing with desirable used cars. I haven't seen one for the XJS yet.
I have browsed the web some, looking for XJS and XJ6 sites but there's nothing great. Unlike, BMW and Honda sites, which seem to be full of excellent info. The company mentioned in Top Gear is probably in the UK but browsing their website might be interesting, please see if you can get the name. Thankx

The Corvette and this Jag are very different cars. The XJS' more like the first 'vettes in character. The late 50s 'vette with the twin headlights and the two-tone arc on the side, that one is a true world class car, but those old American classics costs as much as new Porsches.
What appealed to me about the XJS is its timeless look and rarity. The V12 is just a bonus. I think they also had I6-engined XJS, gots to be cheaper to run it.

*Quattro_20v, the 750iL is another inexpensive V12 in the used market and probably not as troublesome as the Jag V12. I think the Jag just makes a nicer weekend car, as it's a Coupe/convertable. The big Bimmer is an exec express. I think even a thirty-something like myself will be out of place in it. I've seen some older 750s with chromed wheels, pimpy.

Sorry about giving no reason. I like the XJS because it is a good looking car with a great engine. Dedicated owners (John Prescott ) won't care about the sheer unreliability of the car.
