What I really mean is, what are the differences between racing R/RS/RSR and "CUP" models. Is it just that the cars with R in the name somewhere are much more modified and are purely racer whereas CUP is closer to showroom condition? Are RSRs more technically advanced, more expensive, faster, noisier etc than CUP cars?

He's in Texas right now and says he was driving on the highway at a high rate of speed (probably about 100) when a truck had some rocks fly out the top and he says it hit the ground and i guess bounced up and heard a big bang from under the car. He noticed his fuel gauge dropping. He pulls over and checks and see's gas leaking from the fuel tank under the car. Dealer claims $2100 to fix it not covered under warranty.

My questions:
1) Is this a plausible situation?
2) If it is plausible then isn't that VERY dangerous?

These engines will, however, become more economical: we [at Bosch] believe that fuel consumption for both gasoline and diesel engines could be cut by up to one third. In a few years, a standard series car will be available in the compact to mid-size range that can drive 100 kilometres on just three litres of fuel.

Nonetheless, since we know that fossil-fuel reserves are limited, we must start thinking about alternatives to fossil-fuel powered cars.....
Fitting it with a turbo charged version of its 800cc engine, the second step would be to stiffen the suspension. The Matiz has horrendously vague steering and body roll.

Thing is, my pal at work seems to think that fitting a stiff set up with a stiff anti roll bar could be lethal in a car with such a short wheelbase. I understand that if its too stiff and not rolling, the wheels can 'skip'. This could ultimately lead to it rolling over! But how do cars like the Panda 100 get away with it? Are my dreams shattered? :(

Hi all,

Well, the traction control light came on for this Brake Traction Control system yesterday when I went over a rather bumpy potholed surface. Am I right to assume that its acting almost like a limited slip diff? By that I mean it is limiting one front wheel (FWD) from slipping by applying brakes to it. I would assume this is correct, and that the standard 'Traction Control' limits engine power to BOTH wheels in event of wheel spin?

Are my assumptions correct?
