Team Ultimatecarpage.com Race 2: France

Tonight, the third race for the ZAC2 competition will be raced. After 2 races the competition is very close, with a tied first place between Koos de Boer and ucp's very own Roy Visser. In the teamlisting, we are currently ranking second.

We will be racing on the well known Formula 1 Circuit of Magny Cours. A technicaly tough course, with fast chicanes, and tight hairpins. Last year only 3 people finished the race!
The Track

Race Time: 75 minutes
Track Conditions: tarmac 30 degrees celcius, dry

Team ucp Driver comments before the race:
Jeroen Ursem
Tonight i will try to do only one thing, and that will be to finish the darn race without any damage. Hopefully we wont have any problems with the stress due to some pressure which we brought on ourselves with high expectations of the Monza race. So overall this should be a much relaxing experience

Goals:
race pace: 1:46's
qualifing position: Top 8
End position: Top 5

Strategy:
Soft Front tires
Med Rear tires
90 Liters of fuel
Pit in lap 18

Roy Visser
After the win in Monza, i've not had the chance to test much around magny cours due to some working obligations. My main concern will be finishing, since last year only 1 car in our class seemed to be able to do that, that will be our goal.

Goals:
race pace: 1:46's
qualifing position:Top 8
End position: Top 5

Strategy:
Soft Front tires
Med Rear tires
90 Liters of fuel
Pit in: No pit?

My experience at Magny Cours is very limited, and I only decided to take part late on Friday. With only two days of experience with the Corvette and a mediocre setup the aim is to get to the finish in one piece. Like Roy said, last year only three people finished so a finish could very well land me the top ten position I hoped for at Monza.

The best of luck to Roy and Jeroen, hopefully they can keep it together and record a finish. I know Roy struggled with the track over the last few days, but I'm confident last minute practice will get him in there again. Maintaining the driver championship lead would be the ideal result and hopefully Jeroen will do what he promised and get a good finish.

As we all know: to finish first, you first got to finish!

wouter was doing a very good job until 3/4th of the race. He was in the middle of the field, untill he had a fatal crash

it's not easy driving 75 minutes without mistakes, i had the luck that my exploding puncture, only caused body damage. Wouter didnt have this luck

not run it out yet, but just got the 906 having done a series in the GT40.

They've really got the throttle steering feeling "classic" and very controllable. EXCEPT the engine braking from the 906 is evil !! Wonder if it's like that in real life.
I need to rig up the clutch again
