Interesting, PS3 What? Thats one of those Blue-ray DVD HD compatible Drives and a 80 Gig (!) Storage unit.. No Prices yet but one can wandering, I'm guess about £50 ($40) ?

Sony is leading the Blu Ray charge, and Microsoft is backing HD-DVD. Sony is really counting on Blu Ray to win the next gen format war (replacing DVD). That's why Sony has the Blu Ray player in the PS3. They figure if they get enough Blu Ray PS3s into people's homes, then they will start seeing Blu Ray movie sales go up, leading to a Blu Ray victory over HD DVD. There's also the fact that stand alone Blu Ray players cost over $1000, so people will look at the PS3 as a bargain Blu Ray player, complementing PS3 sales.

Microsoft's answer to the above is to release the HD DVD drive for the 360, hoping to increase the chances of HD DVD being widely adopted. So far, to my knowlege, the external Xbox HD DVD drive pre orders have sold out (I may be mistaken). There has also been some questioning over games using the external drive, utilizing the greater storage on HD DVD. Although, Microsoft has said it's possible, they won't confirm anything.

BTW, Blu Ray > HD DVD. They both use blue lasers, but Blu Ray is more advanced, holding alot more than HD DVD. This makes Blu Ray more pricey than HD DVD.

Dayumn, you can really see the size comparisons in plain sight. The PS3 is larger than I thought to be honest, that George Forman grill spoof just flashed back into my mind From that side profile, the PS3 doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing, but the front profile will make up for that with its curved, sweeping design.

The Wii is pleasing, simple, clean, uncomplicated and looks like it can be stored just about anywhere, a small (or large) factor for many consumers, but one that counts.

What do all of you think about the designs of all three consoles? Which is most pleasing to you? For me i'll still take the 360 for design appeal, followed very closely by the Wii. The PS3 being too large, but the sex in that black.
