Good Lord!! IMO I don't think its worth it to try and put money in upgrading it. Just put it out of its misery. . . . and yours

I only wanted the shell, but I guess that's useless too.

Oh well... I'll build one. Someday.

Or go to the Dell website and buy one.

Build your own you get to choose your parts as you want them, And to be honest built PC's seem zippier over pre built ones.

regardless of online bargains i find building PC's to be more expensive than pre-built ones. I would avoid Dell, to much mcafee and norton crap slowing the things down.

I'm using a pretty much similar pc as a linux server. Though the cpu is a Celeron but it has 128MB of ram as well. It also serves somewhat well as a secondary desktop when needed.

not in my experience my system would've cost over £1400 for the dell equivalent. I payed about half of that when i built it.

thats good, I know its not always the case. I spent about £800 on parts for a system using competitive suppliers like CCL, ebuyer and lowestontheweb but found Mesh PC's matching my spec at around £700. I guess its each to their own

on the topic though: What to do with old PC's? make money out of them:

You could turn it into a media player for your tv. Buy a graphics card with a dvi output and dvd player and bang, it can play dvd's on your tv. It would also play divx movies if your into the hole downloading scheme.

How about you:

1. sell everything you own and by a brand new P4 computer;
2. buy the ctrl-alt-del keyboard to make thingz easy;
3. sell old computer, earn money, buy new computer.

If all those options are inpossible then:

1. pray

True, I threw away my P3 machine a couple months ago to the electronics recycling thing.
