I'll probably do that... I really don't feel like installing windows on the mac and bring in all the flaws (take that Rock )

To simplify things, PC games don't work on mac. However, because there are more and more people converting to macs now, EA games are starting to make mac versions of their games. So in order for you to play them, you must buy the mac versions of the particular game (if it exists).

I personally have boot camp on my mac, which runs Windows, so I can just install the PC versions of the game, and play it in my Windows partition.

Another way of playing PC games on mac, without installing Boot camp, is by using something called Cider. It is actually what game makers use to make their games mac compatible. I have NFS most Wanted working that way. Mac version of that game doesn't exist.

Good luck with installing that game... hope what I said helped!

Moh is a pretty old game. I remember playing it on ful gfx quaility on the nvidia 4 series cards so i doubt it will look much better when played on a better computer. Just will be smoother.

Most games today are made for PCs only. So yeah, to echo many people here, you're better off getting a PC. I mean, you could always have a shot at making it work on the Mac, but be prepared for trouble. I know someone who miraculously installed Halo on his Macbook, but he experienced unexpected crashes and errors all the time. In the end he uninstalled it and put it on his Vista PC.

The Macs, on paper, are technically superb. They boast a very good set-up in computer technology, i.e. Dual-Core CPUs, top-of-the-range GPUs, a lot of RAM etc, so theoretically MoH would run smoothly and superbly. For gaming, they have specific games that are compatible (I think Apple has a full list, I'm not sure), but since Mac users are a minority, game developers overlook the Mac platform and focus on the PC.

If you get a PC, I recommend the Dell Inspiron Notebooks. They're more business-oriented if anything, but they can boast some seriously amazing gaming performance. In comparison with HP, Compaq and even Acer computers, they're much cheaper, and much, much better.

EDIT: Damn...I didn't see the second page. Oh well... maybe the above helped anyways.

You can actually run Windows on the new Intel based macs. There are a lot more games for mac than you think and it is still easy to get blockbuster titles running on Mac OS X. The reason Halo didn't run well on the Macbook was because it was designed for the PowerPC macs of old but what your friend didn't do was get the universal binary update that lets that game run perfectly on a new x86 (intel) based mac.

Can't you install Windows on Mac as a second OS and switch between them?

EDIT: I was late with it

if you want to play a game on a MAC it has to be a MAC version. for example COD4 is in being ported to the mac as far as i know.. but there's not many for it. macs arent really gaming systems.. but yeah you cant play a PC game on a mac.
