How exactly does it work? Do you have to download anything anywhere?

Nope, all you have to do is sign up with a valid e-mail and username. It's like a fantasy football manager, you can change/modify all the car settings, your driving characteristics, pit strategy, etc..

It's quite fun actually, there's real life F1 cars from 1986, 2002 and 2006-current, and there's also A1GP, BTCC, Aussie V8s, Champ Car, LMES, MR2's, and a few others. I would join, but I don't have a free slot open.

the poll will go for 7 days, then we must confirm at least 20 players and see in which team they will race

aswell, those who joined today can start in public leagues and save the private game slot to this game

I know, but now I'm trying to do something more organized to enjoy more the experience and introduce more people to have fun in BATracer

Usually takes about 5-10 minutes a day, from memory. Some people can take up to an hour if they're really into it, but that would entail multiple leagues and hardcore attention to details. You can play this with 3 minutes of free time if you wanted.

I'm probably in as well, only thing I'm worried about is potential partner drop out midway through the season.

Yeah, that can be a problem. It's easy to drop out if the results isn't good enough. I find it a bit more interesting than just the thought of winning though.
I'm in for sure, but i hoped we could take the 1986 season.

if you don't have time to keep up everyday you can use the holiday mode so you can't be sacked and let the game play for you, I guess

As far as I've understood, the holiday mode puts you up for change without delay. I should know but I've never used it so can't say for sure.

Even if we started right away, the season would last till the latter half of August.
