GT series is basically the same, stock cars difficultly win, especially because the other cars are always slightly tuned.
Never played FM seriously, but in GT it didn't take much to beat them all. Perhaps only the Formula car in GT4 is tough to beat on some track.

I use the auto-tune.. it's good to just bump a car to the top of its class.

Stop looking at me! Look at me! Stop looking at me!
I agree that the difficulty settings are a bit janky. I'm not a paragon of racing ability, but the hard difficulty is a little too hard. I don't mind losing a bit, I like a challenge, but it gets way hard. And yeah, medium is simple. It's not a case of just getting better, I've been playing 2 and now 3 a ton. :P

It doesn't bother me too much though because the core of the Forza games will always be the online series. Consider the AI games as practice to get you primed for the real thing.

So far I think my favorite car is the SL 65 black series because oh my god that's the most beautiful car ever made. yeah it's heavy, but it actually handles really well. I have it tuned to A class, which it already was so it's just a bit of weight removal, some custom rims, adjustable suspension etc.

That and the Z4 M coupe. I'm so glad BMW doesn't just consist of different varieties of M3 this time.

I auto-tuned a 512TR up to peak A class.. it's surprisingly good! Maybe even better than the 355 Challenge I did the same thing too... might have to S-class the 355.
