New Lancer Evo IX?

After jimbos thread about the shot of the new impreza, i looked around for ideas on the forthcoming Lancer Evo IX. I found a few interesting photos. Firstly (see attatched image) This idea is a very good possibility as it very closely resembles the new standard Lancer. It is also backed up by this Japanese magazine article:



There have also been rumours that the EVO IX is to be based closely on the Evo WRC04, which would look something like this:

The bodywork does not show obvious signs of change, though the rear and front bodywork has been rounded off very nicely and the front has lost its 'pin nose' still, it doesnt fit in with the current Mitsubishi range. However, this has been accepted by many as the likely new Evo IX, as there have been prototypes made.

the EVO based on the rally car is really cool, very good looking car. exept for that rear spoiler.. its tooo much.

Now will they ever bump the hp over the 300hp barrier

oh yay, another lancer (inject sarcasm).

i really do detest the evo. theres a mitsu dealer around the corner from me and they have a few sitting out front, and they just look rediculous. i have seen some drawings of the evo X, and it looks like it will be a good looking car, not silly like this one, and the current one do.

I've seen the picture of a evo 9 design... it looks very different than the WRC car. I have the picture in a magazine here in my room.. but i have no scanner

Cool car but to me i think the evo 8 is better.

Yeah, the EVO8 looks more aggressive to me, the lines or much straighter, this looks more like a plastic babycar although, it's not that bad at all & performance will be better, we all hope...

I much rather the WRC design to the one using the normal Lancers triangular lights, what a mistake that was to use as a global face
