RTA comes under fire over P plate regulations

I had a buddy who rolled his Suzuki Cappuccino Cabriolet Turbo and the car is as small as a matchbox car, provoking squeezing through stupidly small spaces. that thing should be definantly be banned but it shows up as an exempted vehicle.

Those Suzuki's are harmless though, but the fact he managed to roll one just proves how easy it is to achieve in any car, which just proves trying to ban cars based on SPEED is pointless

How is it that the Daihatsu Copen is Banned, But the Cappucino Isn't?

This fails to take into account many imported cars which young people may turn to if they can't get their performance buzz from other, closer to home sources.

Heres the Kicker.
When you're a Learner in NSW, you're Limited to 80 kays, right?

In the ACT, you're allowed to drive At the Speed Limit, In every state (because the rules usually go off where you got your license when things like P-Plate Restrictions come to mind).

I'm allowed to Drive our Jeep Cherokee (Big Straight 6, Oh No!) and I'm allowed to drive at the speed limit. Life is Sweet.

Another year stuck at 90 (possible 18mths)

Another 2 years stuck at 100 (possible 30mths)

0.2, To allow for food with Alcohol or Medication.

But you're not allowed anything more, and its strict enforcement.

Plus as a Learner you get 12 points on your license, when your a P you get 4.

Take the P-Off program, you get 8 and no longer have to display your P's.

We had 0.2, now its nothing....absolutely nothing...we dont get that P-Off program either

It's Surprising; They rely on the profits made from such things as speed cameras, but there limiting the amount of drivers who they can profit from.

Maybe they are looking after Safety after all? Or maybe there retarded.

They must be doing something...the number of drivers is going down, and those who are left will be broke from all the speed cameras

They know people will pay for freedom, but perhaps some of us can't afford the cost.

If the funds they were used were directed to stuff like Public Transport, I could understand, but it's not, Public Transport is just terrible, and it's not a reliable enough alternative to using a Car.

i thought it was no points on your L's and if you got an infringement you had to go to court, or is that NSW?

The entire point of having points on a Learner license is so you can make these mistakes with out too much of a cost.

I always thought your licesne just got cancelled and the person instructing lost the points, but apparantly a learner has there own set to burn up.
