RX-8 is even slow compared to my car.

You still got a Saab ?
If so, then next time you get a chance to drive the RX-8 you're comparing it with get them to take the lead weights out of the boot
Either that or get it SERVICED !

My car is about as much as a Saab (my Saab is a 9-2X Aero, I guess you guys didn't get these over in Europe) as a CityRover is a Rover.

The 9-2X Aero is a rebadge of a WRX.

Edit: And BTW, my 9-2X weighs nearly the same as the RX-8.

ah the 9-2 -- as much a Subaru as a CityRover is a Rover
SAAB did many improvments that Subaru wanted rights to retrofit to their own car.
Yeah, a "better" Saab .... but I still question the performance and we woudl get into the debate of what roads/conditions. On some the RX-8 will win and personally will do it with more "enjoyment" as a driver ( ie a little more technical ).

The stock 9-2X is about 100kg MORE than the RX-8 .. Have you modded yours ? Interested to know and why not create a thread for it with info and pics ? Was the RX-8 equally modded you compared

Finally, I was checking with US RX-8 club members ( we get the Scoob it's based on but not the 9-2X ) and was pointed to an owner of both who HAD run a 9-2x for trackdays but got an RX-8 as it was faster BEFORE the many mods he had applied to the 9-2

Having shared stage and track time with pukka WRXs there are places I was a lot faster ( as long as switched off al the "stability - ie make it slower - aids ) but it was certainly "harder" and needing more concentration !!

I haven't done any modifications yet to my 9-2X. But when I do so I would love to work on the brakes first, the stock ones just don't seem to be very good.

driving skills always counts as a factor. How late or early you shift gears is one in particular. So i agree that it deepends on these variables.
