I dunno nota, every one I have ever been in pre VT has shaked and rattled like a bastard, and I dont just mean old clapped out heaps of crap, I mean brand spanking new ones too. Did the 3 litre have the same torque as the V8?

I've been in a Bevy of Commodores (My Grandmother Owned a VB, My Babysitter a VS Berlina, We rented a VP Exec to go up to queensland, My mother had a company VT during her tenure at Northern Territory Health) and I have no recollection of anything untoward squeak, rattle or roll wise happening to these cars - and I spent a lot of time in each of them.

My most vivid memory of the VB was how small the windows felt. - it was a luxo model so it had electric windows, but the windscreen especially - for a little tacker as I was back then - freaked me out by how narrow it was.

I was used to our Magna Exec Wagon, where i could see all

Well my new VK wasn't any worse than a then-new Falcon, although I did chew out the tailshaft centre bearing within 19,000kms due to driver-abuse. I recently owned a VC which still felt quite tight - except for those tinny doors of course. But Falcons like XD-XF had crap doors too. I think iits true that VT finally bought back a welcome sense of solidity that had been absent in fullsize Holdens since the sad demise of the Aussie-designed HZ/WB. Holden made a huge mistake droppping Kingswood and Torana for Commodore imo

I guess the old maxim of one ft/lb per cubic inch, so around 180 ft/lbs for the 3 litre Opel

They do that perfectly without the driver prevoking it

Torana should of stayed imo best holdens built versitile small/mid sized cars later came with a v8 in a realativly small car.

XD-F i find the doors stay quite solid...door handels though and interiors are well abuse in thos cars ive been in a major acco in one (XF and i was the passenger we where both drunk baaaad combo) and i didnt even spill my beer so i think their plenty solid enough.
