I hope not. If they really think they're going to sell that many they need to increase the price and cut production. The M cars need to be special, they need to be cars worth mentioning. It shouldn't be just the next step up from from the 335i.

well one of those M3's will be mine!
i will hunt non rev happy RS4's and pull their engines even further forward as i pull away from them!
i will out run the benz with faster shifts!
and laugh @ the lexus as it tries!

or i'll have a 2009 GT-R if all goes well

they should be able to sell that many, i mean it's nice for an M5...wait...it's an M3..hmm
well, i guess there'd be enough people who'd buy it to appreciate as well as those who want their 3 series to be better than that other guy's 3 series, so more power to them if they do it

The V8 in the RS4 is a very rev happy engine. 8250 RPM in fact only 150 rpm short of the M3's 8400 rpm redline.

I'm not sure. The Benz is also several hundred pounds heavier than the M3.
