Now 80K for a Mustang.....yea, that's going too far. It completely obliterates the very concept behind the pony/musclecar.......which is cheap performance for the masses. When they build a Mustang with a wordclass suspension and powertrain that will compete against the best in its price range/class, and package it together with second to none fit and finish.......then I can condone an 80K price tag for a Mustang. Until then....its just a standard 41K GT500 with a CF hood, a smaller pulley, and better springs.

Think of it as motivation for what people can do. That's really the idea behind the car. Its not to make this individual model sell well, its to make the lower models sell well because people are inspired as to what can be achieved...

Is that really relevant? Do you really think that potential GT500 KR really care about other cars that are less expensive and possibly perform better? I would think they do not give a rat's ass. They want to buy a Mustang GT500 KR, not a Nissan GTR or a Corvette Z06. Automotive enthusiasts are that; enthusiasts, not mathematicians, who purchase a vehicle after a difficult equation to determine the absolute best bang for buck.

I heartily agree with you there. The KR is intended to be an icon model. Something for the Mustang enthusiasts to wave a flag over. But even still. That car could have sold for 50K or less considering the handful of upgrades it has over the standard GT500. But as Wouter said, ppl want what they want. And those with the money to pass off on a car of this price are gonna get what most pleases them........whether thats performance, iconic status, or cool factor.......or all three.

The last Mustang Cobra R (and the following supercharged one ) was wicked good, but since then they stopped using IRS, WTF?
if the KR did go with IRS i bet it may be worth a look- but isn't the wieght distribution of the new mustang- with supercharger like the Cobra Shelby and the KR like 60% over the front?
for 80K this is a big snafu

Every single one of these things will sell, above MSRP. There are too many rich Mustang collectors out there willing to part with their money.
