Road Test Video: 1972 & '73 Buick

Someone on a Buick forum found these two videos:

A 1973 Buick GS 455.
YouTube - 1973 Buick GS 455 road test

Watch at 2:40 for the slalom test; it does quite well for a big and heavy car. Also note at 4:55... going through a curve at over 75 mph. The 15.3 second 1/4 mile time is also good for a heavy car with a desmogged, low-compression engine and what is probably high gearing.

Very interesting videos. Thanks for sharing.

By the way I love when they do the slalom and test track tests. The cars look so much out of place.

You can tell they are pushing a lot of weight when going through the slaloms.

But I'm glad the road test included that kind of test.

I don't blame you. They are nice cars.

I know the feeling. I, too, miss Buicks like the Skylark/GS, Riviera and Electra.

Buick used to be a great way to own a nice car without all the snoodyness that caddilac used to represent. now its juts an old persons car even though they are still nice.

I like it how in the 73 GS one they say that nose dive was minimal with the "stiffer springs" in the car which still resulted in the front of the car flopping foreward like a frail great grandparent being tipped off his chair.

Americans have strange definitions of what stiff suspension is.
