Nissan GTR Dyno Run With Haltech computer

Completely unmolested GTR at the Sydney Autosalon this weekend past.

YouTube - R35 GTR at SAS 2008 on dyno

Stock it pulls +290Kw, or +350HP with 5000 kilometers on the car.

YouTube - R35 GTR 367 KW

With a tune setup done the same sesssion infront of a live audience..

367Kw, utilizing only a haltech piggyback computer.

Damned impressive stock being able to get 367Kw at all four wheels with only a computer in..

Thought this was interesting, so I shared - enjoy.

Impressive Video, and IDK if this applies for the USA version of the GTR, but I heard that Japan has some crazy warranty rules for the GTR...Like there were rumors that said u couldn't take it to a race track without the speed limiter removed and also u couldn't change the rims & tires unless taking it to a Japanese Nissan Dealership. If these actions were done they said it voided warranty....and also, Nissan Japan were telling tuners in Japan, to not tune the GTR for the Tokyo Auto Salon...they just wanted ppl to see the car for what it is...

...once again these were just rumors circulated around so idk if they are true!

^ well it makes sense if nissan spent all that money getting it to be as good as they could make it at that specification, they wouldn't want people throwing bits on and complaining if it goes slower..
edit: lol, sounds like the world's biggest vacuum cleaner.

The warrenty has been discussed elsewhere guys, can we keep this on topic, gaining this much just from a tune and a computer is impressive.

I don't really think so - it just reflects the compromises that Nissan made when making the stock tune... they had to make sure it will run well under a huge range of temperature and pressure variations, make sure it is comfortable for different drivers, make it not prone to failing if say, an oil change is later than expected or a driver doesn't warm it up like they should. Sure a computer can squeeze a little bit more power out, but is it worth risking overheating on a hot day? Or sluggishness on a cold one? What if you need to use the spare tire?

EDIT!! Haha looks like I mistakenly compared 350 hp before to 367 kW after. Now that I pay attention to the units... a gain of 77 kW (just over 100hp) is certainly very impressive. I stand behind my reasoning for why Nissan tuned it the way they did, but that's a whole lot of extra power.

Also take into account that the boost was turned up from the stock 10psi to 15psi. Im guessing that anything after this would be difficult for the rest of the components to handle, especially the transmission.

Not using KWs here and this is what i got from internet :

290KW equals to 397.30HP
367KW equals to 502.79HP

SHOCKING! But i do agree with Bob on the reliability part.

I would like to see the RPM against the KW, that would show if it's really better.

I like it, but its still a bit in tango I would have to say. Doesn't quite have the mean and aggressive stance of the Z06. Still none the less, a good looking car. Not to mention the sound. I mean, its just not the kind of thing that makes your jaw drop. In fact, I find it very dull. Just personal opinion.

Even with 502.79RWHP it only managed a 11.1 @ 124mph.

that's a 26% power gain,
a very standard increase when manipulating the ECU,
I got about 20% additional, for a mere 500 Euro...it has been there for almost 100,000 kms there, no additional wear and tear.
