McLaren and Mercedes are terminating (or already have) their road car partnership so making a new car entirely would probably not make much sense.

AMG is still developing new gearbox(es), but they won't be ready until something about 2010 iirc

I knew the SLR wasn't the hot cake MB would have hoped, but I though they managed to sell all of them at the end, IIRC all the 1500 or so SLR coupè were saw.

It's not organic and fluid, nor is it conventionally beautiful. But I love it. It has this aggressive and menacing look, kind of like screaming "You WILL take notice of me and you WILL fear me".

As for it carrying Moss' name, I don't think Mercedes took it for themselves. They rather made a clever and fitting homage to him.
