Chrome?

Which paint is chrome? I tried a lot of metallic paints but none of them are chrome enough to look good on mufflers.

Chrome is chrome. It's not a paint.

Not that I know what I'm talking about.

The best chrome paint is made by Alclad, check your hobby stores or online.

Baremetal foil is the closest thing you will get to chrome. When polished, it is hard to tell the difference.

Whether you use Alclad 2 or BMF it comes down to how skilled you are at apply them.

BTW, what do you use to polish BMF?

Does anybody make adhesive foils other than Bare Metal Foil?

I'm looking for "steel," that is, something less brilliant than chrome, for the interior of a 40's race car. I'd also like to find nickel and bronze, for the same application. And of course the impossible scale metal: machined stainless for dashes.

IMO, nothing looks better than that mix of wood, leather and bare metals you see in those old cars. That's just one of many reasons why I like them.

Best thing to do there is mask off and spray metalizers either from Testors or Alclad.

Hey Nuke,
You can send your parts out to get them chrome plated but it's not cheap which is why most guys use Alclad or BMF.
My 2 cents...
