There's no such thing. But this was meant to preview it in a way.

Wow, I like the fact that they didn't change much from concept to production. Shame that the M1 didn't do so well.

Designed for the 1972 Olympic games in Munich, as a showcase for BMW's technological prowess in the areas of forced induction and safety.

The car used a 4 cylinder turbo-charged engine, as was the 2002 Turbo a year later - one of the first passenger cars to use turbocharging.

The safety of the car was tackled through passive means - substantial composite bumpers, deformable crash structures, energy absorbing steering column, and an intentionally eye-catching paint job with the front and rear ends of the car painted bright orange fading to deep red for the rest of the body. The car also featured ABS, and the mid-engined layout (BMW's first) was intended to give the car good dynamics.

The car, originally styled by Paul Bracq, served as inspiration for Giugiaro when the company decided to build the M1 supercar, released in 1978.

The front end treatment of the Turbo Concept was also echoed in the 8 Series coupe.

There were no plans for the M1 when this arrived on the scene.

However, when the M1 idea was finallly brought up, BMW looked back to this, and used this as inspiration.

Really i'd say this was the 8-series insert paste here --> <--- I can see the liking to the M1 but even though the came obviously later it does look very similiar.
