Well it's for returning only one competitors discuss/javelin once thrown.
So no need for bulk carry.

Practically, it may be possible this will speed up events as in theory the car could be returning while the next person is throwing ! Not really safe if it's a person doing the work.
And then of course .... the REAL reason ...... lots of advertising for Volvo and they'll have paid a large bung to get the job

oh yeah, and for the batteries. im sure they use the universal 9.6V batteries that they could have a million of standing by

what if the javelin/hammer being trown hits the car... would there be any extre points for the athelete?
