That's the production version, not the prototype. Btw. the prototype is also called Ursaab. Beatiful and -most important- unique design, that would Saab need nowadays... Never, ever trust a photo caption in GM media site. After a little bit of research, it seems that car nr. P533 is indeed a first production version of Saab 92, rolling out from the factory in 1949. Notice the shape of the old-style licence plate. Car nr. E92002 is a pre-production prototype, sort of direct descendant of UrSaab or 92.001. UrSaab was too impractical for production, so they made a 20 pre-production prototypes before launching Saab 92 officially. Thanks for pointing out my mistakes Cheers |
