Extremely exaggerated proportions (Ie an unnecesssarily long bonnet) lend this car quite a sporty edge.
A lesson in proportion.

herein lies my problem with the design.
It's a lovely looking car when taken from a front or rear 3/4 aspect. but because the glasshouse is soooo high, and because the other design elements (small grille, elongated but not very high head/tail lights) it unbalances the design. If they somehow could have lowered the glasshouse or something, it'd look really scmick. ATM it looks like it's had a nosejob that it not in keeping with the rest of the car. Still, it IS an old model taste was different back then.
