C5 and C6 are different generations of Corvettes, and C6R is the race version. In any case the Corvette is still quite far from special edition masters like the Mustang.

Or the Bugatti Veyron.

The Corvette should not be mentioned. In the same sentence as the Mustang. It simply cannot compete with those two.
Fortunately, you did put the Veyron in a different sentence.

The Corvette always seems to be having one sort of anniversary or another, but I doubt this will carry the ridiculous markup that the. Veyron (more-so) and Mustang suffer from.

LOL @ Cargirl!

They are models, not trim levels I think. The Grand Sport seems to fit in nicely, but they should have been aiming for a mild power upgrade (460bhp?). Reminds me very much like a tactic Nissan have been using for years with their so-called V-Spec cars... It certainly gives reason to think that the standard car is not good enough to tackle the corners.

The Grand Sport should be more hardcore if it is aimed at track enthusiasts.

I thought the Grand Sport was supposed to be a hi-po version of the Corvette, sort of a Z06 of sorts. Guess the model means differently now.

should've known that! i feel like such an idiot! i'm one of those 'Vette fanatics and didn't know that the C5 and C6 were of different generations ( very pathetic on my part! ). oh yeah, i just consider certian models of the same car " trims ".

Stop looking at me! Look at me! Stop looking at me!
Z06 and Grand Sport are sort of trim levels, but the ZR1 is practically a different model, like the Shelby GT500 is to the Mustang.

a trim level is a 150.000 € bump in price for a different paint scheme, not a larger engine, better specs, and other goodies.

I think you've gone a bit too far with the 150 grand figure...

Not as impressive as the 1996 Grand Sport. That car looked great, and has perhaps my favorite ever wheel design.

To use the GS moniker, they should at least have bumped the power to say, 460ish.

No, I think you misunderstood him. The Z06 and the GT500 are higher performance versions of the same car, so much that they're practically different cars altogether.

And although they have about the same power, I don't think a GT500 is a real competitor to the Z06- the Ford seems to be a crappier car altogether.

They aren't even in the same league. Exagerating, the Shebly is a fast saloon and the Z06 a purpose built sportscar.

I meant same car as in their own respective models, btw.

I know. I didn't want to put down the Ford so hard.
